From Torver, Little Arrow, follow paths up to Goats Water via the disused quarry and crossing Walna Scar Road and then up to Goats Hause where we pause to look at the view and turn to go up again onto the Old Man of Coniston. From here we make our way down via the main "Tourist route" - Stubthwaite Crag and Big Hill and onto Walna Scar Road towards Heathwaite passing some more disused quarries and onto the Old Railway line back into Coniston Village. Hopefully some superb views and a steady pace - we won't be rushing!

Passing through the woods we follow the path to reach the Coniston Ferry Jetty and picking up the Cumbria Way. From here we follow the path alongside the lake passing through the Waste Park camping site (2nd lunch stop)before reaching Coniston Hall (ices etc if required).
