Next Wednesday Walk 4th November ending in Settle

The A walk will be led by Bob and is approximately 7.5 miles and 1200 feet

The walk is mostly on easy tracks and grassy paths. Starting from Austwick we first visit Oxenber and Wharfe woods, which should be good for autumn colour with many hazel trees. We then go over the hill to Little Stainforth for a stop by the waterfall, then up to Stainforth. We then take a path by Stainforth Scar ascending through woodland to Upper Winskill. Following quiet lanes, we pass a very large erratic, then join the Pennine Bridleway into Settle, with good views over the Ribble Valley.

The B walk will be led by Phil and is just over 6 miles and 500 feet with 2 stiles

The walk starts at the main car park in Settle and we do a tour of Lower Settle before leaving to Upper Settle . We walk up to the reservoir and across fields to join Lambert Lane, then Mitchell Lane and down to Lodge Farm and Lodge Lane passing Runley Mill to the river which we cross by the road bridge . We then follow the far bank of the river all the way back to Settle. ​

​The C walk will be led by Brian and is approximately 4 miles with little uphill

We start the walk at the back of the coach park and take the road to cross the River Ribble at Penny Bridge.  We then take the footpath along the river to the bridge and walk up to the main road and up to a road called Mains.  We follow the road to a footpath and stile to cross 4 fields to Stackhouse.  We cross the River Ribble on the bridge and walk past mills and ponds and over the railway line to the road and then take the lane to Settle.​
