Next Wednesday Walk 26th March ending in Parbold

The A walk will be led by David and is approximately 8 miles and 800 ft

The walk is a circular, beginning with the canal, walking towards Liverpool. Then by lanes we have a gentle climb to Ashurst's Beacon, visiting Thomas' Tank Engine on the way. Then we make our way back to the canal, and walk back into Parbold.

The B walk will be led by Christine and is approximately 5.8 miles and 400 ft

The walk starts from the stunning view point at the top of Parbold Hill.  We walk down and through Fairy Glen alongside Sprodley Brook. Crossing railway, canal and River Douglas to Rookery Farm, Cobb’s Brow Lane and into Newburgh.  Fields and canal into Parbold.

The C walk will be led by Mary and Sylvia and is approximately 4 miles and 150 ft ascent/400 ft descent. On good tracks.

We are starting at the viewpoint at the top of Parbold Hill. Lovely view over the valley looking toward Parbold and Ashurst's Beacon in the distance. We will take a footpath in a northerly direction and come round to the main road on Sparrow Hill. It is then a short distance to Fairy Glen. We descend through the glen, to reach footpaths passing Gillibrand house. Soon we turn in a southerly direction to cross the railway and canal [Leeds/Liverpool]. Continuing southwards we follow footpaths and pass Prior's Wood Farm and Hall [SW direction]. We walk around the farm, and then footpaths to the canal. We follow the canal towards Parbold and stop at the cafe [Yours Is The Earth] or the pub [The Windmill]. Both are very close to each other.
