Next Wednesday Walk 19th November ending in Kendal

The A walk will be led by James & Jane and is just under 8 miles and 850 feet. (6 stiles)

We start just outside Kendal on the A6 and walk up a small road to cross under the A591 and then cross fields towards High House Farm towards the church at St John Helsington. (just above Sizergh). From here we will drop down and along the bottom end of Scout Scar till we get to Barrowfield Farm, when we will come up a short steepish path to the cairn on Scout Scar. Following northwards past the mushroom along the ridge until we meet the path to return over the A591 and drop down across the golf course and through Serpentine Woods into Kendal.

The B walk will be led by Roger and is approximately 6 miles and 900 feet

​​The walk is expected to start at Helsington and will walk up to Scout Scar along some of Cunswick Fell and down Kendal Fell, through Serpentine Woods and into Kendal.

 

The C walk will be led by Phil and is 4 miles and 220 feet up Castle Hill

We start at Hadwins garage on the outskirts of Kendal and walk down past Scroggs Wood to the river path which we follow all the way to Romney bridge. We cross over into the riverside park area where we will have a drinks break. We the make our way to join the disused railway line as far as the cemetery and the castle grounds where we will have lunch. We circle the grounds and ascend up to the castle before descending down to Kendal town.
