Next Wednesday Walk 11th September ending at Sedbergh
Our next Wednesday walks end in Sedbergh
The A walk will be led by Bob and is approximately 7.8 miles and 1100 feet
We will leave the coach 2 miles before Sedbergh and follow a quiet lane uphill, passing "Fox's Pulpit" after about 1.5 miles and half of the day's ascent! The lane then gently descends and we follow good paths into the Lune Valley, with lovely views ahead of the Howgill Fells, the old railway viaduct and the river. Passing the picturesque hamlet of Lowgill and crossing the Crook of Lune bridge, we join the Dales Way for 2.5 miles, mostly close to the river. We then join the quiet Howgill Lane for the last 2 miles into Sedbergh.

The B walk will be led by Mary G and is less than 6 miles and about 650 feet
It is a circular walk, involving river and field tracks along the Rawthey and Clough valley and returning to Sedburgh on the lower slopes of Frostrow. We will walk in an Easterly direction to Underbank, Stone Hall and Ellerthwaite. We will then walk down to Straight bridge, to cross the River Rawthey and then along the river Clough for a short distance. We then take footpaths to reach the lower slopes of Frostrow and return to Sedburgh.

The C walk will be led by David H and is approximately 4 miles and 150 feet.
From Sedbergh we will walk to the River Rawthey and follow it to Straight Bridge. Then we follow lanes to Millthrop where we cross the river and walk to Birk House then into Sedbergh via the School.
