Next Wednesday Walk 27th August ending in Keswick
The A walk will be led by Alex and is 7 miles and 1150 feet of ascent.
Starting from the shore at Derwent Bay we traverse Cockshot and Castlehead Woods to the first viewpoint at Castle Head. Next we go through Springs Wood before ascent can be made of the steep open shoulder leading to Walla Crag, this is another fine viewpoint.
From here we follow a track which descends gradually to Ashness Bridge, where we can again, admire the view and the bridge.
Next we follow a narrow path back towards Keswick traversing beneath Lower and Upper Falcon Crag, across Cat Gill and follow the shore path back to Keswick.

The B walk will be led by Christine and is about 6.4 miles and 500 feet of ascent.
Starting in Keswick we follow the Cumbrian way to Stormwater bridge. A short stretch on on the river, fields into Portinscale village, Derwent Bank, Nicol End down to the lake and return to Keswick through Fawe park and wood.

The C walk will be led by Phil and is 4 miles with minimal ascent and 100 feet descent
We make our way to the Pheasant Inn to join a tree lined pathway down to Crossthwaite Church where we will have our first stop .We then take the path down to and across the B5289 and head towards Portinscale before taking a sharp turn onto the path between fields which takes us towards town . On passing Booths and the Rugby club we enter Crow park and walk adjacent to the lake to the Theatre on the Lake . We will have a second stop before continuing alongside the lake past Friars Crag and eventually turn onto the path leading through Cockshott Woods back to the Theatre and on through the top half of Crow Park finishing back at Booths. This is a relatively easy walk all on good paths .
