Walks ending at Sedbergh 6th December 2025

The A walk will be led by Andrew & Sue and is 9 miles and 2600 feet.

A circular to The Calf (676m/2217ft)

Starting in the centre of Sedbergh climbing out of the village on the Dales High Way. Crossing Settlebeck Gill we follow a climbing path to circumnavigate Crook to join Ashbeck Gill.  Continue to climb following the Gill till we turn East to summit Sickers Fell. From the summit head North passing Hobdale Scar, Calders and Bram Rigg Top to summit The Calf. Return south on the same route before breaking Southwest to Arant Haw and Winder. Head West off Winder to follow a gentler descent to Lockbank Farm and onto Sedbergh.

 

The B walk will be led by Maria and is approximately 7 miles and 750 feet.

Riverbank to Straits Bridge - footpath up to Hebblethwaite Hall- Hebblethwaite Gill - across rough pasture to Sarthwaite- field path to Fellgate - track to Dovecote Gill farm - footpath across Sweet Hill following Clough River to Garsdale Bridge the Straights Bridge and back to Sedbergh.

 

The C walk will be led by Bob and is 6.2 miles and 500 feet.

We start at Lincoln's Inn Bridge on the Lune and follow the Dales Way to High Oaks then to Brigflatts where we join the Rawthey. We leave the Dales Way near Birks and join the Dee at Abbot Holme (lunch) for a small diversion to Rash Bridge in Dentdale. A short ascent leads back to the Dales Way, Millthrop and a stroll along the Rawthey into Sedbergh.
