Walks ending at Ulverston 8th November 2025

The A walk will be led by Andy and is 10 miles and 1700 feet.

From Ulverston we pick up the Cumbria Way taking us past several farms until we get to the pretty church of St John’s close to Netherhouses. We then pass through Broughton Beck to reach Lowick Pike with its views of the Coniston fells. At this point we head south with our destination being the Sir John Barrow monument on Hoad Hill.  From here it’s an easy jaunt into Ulverston.

 

The B walk will be led by Lesley and is 7.23 miles and 501 feet ascent/476 feet descent.

From Conishead Priory along the coast to Wellhouse; up onto Appleby Fell and round Birkrigg Common and back into Ulverston via Swarthmoor Hall.

 

The C walk will be led by Phil and is just under 6 miles and 530 feet.

The walk goes along Ulverston canal to canal foot and turns left past the quarries to Next Ness and back into Ulverston . It then goes through Ford Park and up Hoad Hill to the top before descending to Ulverston via Town Bank.
